Echocardiographic Diagnosis of Right Atrial Perforation due to Primary Cardiac Angiosarcoma Using Hand-Agitated Saline Contrast

Introduction Primary cardiac tumors are rare, and approximately 25% of which are malignant. Primary cardiac angiosarcoma, which is a rapidly progressing tumor, is the most common malignant tumor of cardiac origin. It is associated with a poor prognosis and median survival time of 3 to 6 months. We report a case of 61-year-old woman who had a history of unknown cause of pericardial effusion 7 months ago. Cardiac angiosarcoma with right atrial perforation was demonstrated by two-dimensional and contrast echocardiography.
